March Volunteer of the Month
Leonard is originally from New Salem, where he and his wife farmed and ranched until he
moved to Bismarck six years ago.
He first volunteered his time at Aide, Inc. after signing up with the RSVP+ office. It was during
his volunteering for them that he started coming to the Bismarck Senior Center to eat congregate meals. Leonard
says the food is “so good”. He found out that Bismarck Senior Center also needed volunteers
to help with their nutrition program, so decided to help out as a Dish Crew volunteer, bussing tables after the meal. He
has been here at the Senior Center for three years. Leonard
really likes all the people that come to the Center. They are so friendly and good company to visit with.
“If you’re old and you have your health, why not come and socialize?” he said. He
has been a widower for over 20 years, but he especially enjoys the Senior Club Dinner Dances, as he loves to dance!
Leonard you are a “SUPER” volunteer!
Make It Happen!
The key to our success rests in our volunteers, who embody the spirit of greatness by saying,
"Yes I can, and so can you!"
Thank you so much for your hard work.
We never could have asked for more dedicated volunteers,
and we cannot
express how grateful we are to have you here!!!
The Bismarck Senior
Center has a variety of volunteer opportunities available. These opportunities include:
All volunteers are coordinated through RSVP+ Central ND. RSVP+ Central ND is made up of volunteers serving seven North Dakota counties: Burleigh, Morton, Mercer,
